In his speech at the celebration, President Sang praised Ha Nam's socio-economic achievements over the past 15 years, which have given the province a facelift and added fresh impetus for stronger development in the future.

Ha Nam’s total budget revenue in 2011 reached VND1,840 billion, a 27-fold increase over the first year of its reestablishment, and its annual per capita income hit VND 21.1 million. The provincial economy has been drastically restructured with agriculture, forestry and fishery now accounting for 20 percent; industry and construction 50.2 percent; and services 29.8 percent.

To date, the province has built eight industrial parks covering 1,800 ha, four of which have been put into operation, attracting more than 100 projects and generating nearly 21,000 jobs.
