At a meeting with visiting Vietnam National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong on April 14, Mr Liu, who is also Chairman of the People’s Council, said Guangxi wanted to contribute to the construction of the “two corridors and one economic belt” between Vietnam and China.
Together with the fine development of China-Vietnam relations, the ties between Guangxi and many Vietnamese provinces, including Cao Bang, Lang Son and Quang Ninh, have strongly developed, especially in trade and the fight against smuggling and crimes along border areas, Mr Liu said.
NA Chairman Trong said as Vietnam’s border provinces and Guangxi hold great potential for cooperation, particularly in economics, trade and tourism, they should work harder to boost bilateral cooperative ties in the coming time.
Earlier, the top Vietnamese legislator and his accompanying officials had a working session with the People’s Council of Guangxi.
The two sides exchanged experiences in law making and supervision at the provincial level, and proposed concrete measures to intensify cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam’s localities.
