The Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting in the city on August 19 to mark Hungary’s National Day (August 20).
Istvan, the first king of Hungary, was deified on August 20. The date has since been known by Hungarian people as the day the country was born.
Addressing the meeting, Do Van Thanh, Honorary Consul of Hungary in HCM City, said that Hungarian and Vietnamese people hold a very friendly and respectful bond. He added that Hungary always considers Vietnam its stable and reliable strategic partner in Southeast Asia.
Le Minh Triet, President of the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association in HCM City, said his organization will outline orientations for developing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.
