Friendship insignia bestowed upon Austrian Ambassador
VOV.VN - Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Hans-Peter Glanzer has been awarded the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) in recognition of his remarkable and substantive contributions to both nations’ ties.
Upon addressing the awards ceremony held on August 5 in Hanoi, Phan Anh Son, president of the VUFO, said that during his working tenure in the nation, the Ambassador made great contributions to strengthening bilateral ties across a variety of fields, with emphasis placed on people-to-people diplomacy, fostering exchanges, interactions, and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Under the leadership of the Ambassador, the Embassy has co-ordinated with Vietnamese agencies and organisations to launch cultural and art exchange programmes, which have served to intensify the public’s access to and participation in cultural and artistic events, as well as helping to promote cultural diversity whilst fostering the two peoples’ exchanges.
The diplomat has also played a crucial role in the joint efforts of both sides to successfully arrange high-level meetings and delegation exchanges and organise major events such as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Austria (December 1, 1972 – 2022).
He has also paid due attention to promoting bilateral co-operation in trade, economics, science, and education, added Son.
Showing his honour at receiving the insignia, Ambassador Glanzer thanked the VUFO, the Vietnam-Austria Friendship Association, and Vietnamese partners for their support during his tenure.
Emphasising the importance of the friendship and co-operation between the two peoples, the Ambassador said he believes people-to-people exchanges will serve as a bridge to solidify collaboration in a multitude of fields such as economics, investment, trade, education, culture, and tourism; as well as further deepening the relationship between both sides.
