The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) values the strengthening of ties with the French Communist Party (PCF), thus helping boost friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.
Ngo Van Du, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chief of the committee’s Office, made the affirmation while receiving a PCF delegation led by Director of the Commission for International Relations Jacques Fath in Hanoi on November 16.

Du thanked the French communists, as well as all the people of France, for their solidarity with and support for Vietnam in its past struggle for independence as well as its current process of national construction and defence.

For his part, Jacques Fath spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements during its renewal process, considering it to be a valuable experience to learn for the PCF and all forces struggling for peace, democracy and socialism in the world.

He expressed his hope that the PCF will further strengthen ties with communist parties, workers and vanguards throughout the world and will continue to do its utmost to tighten its relationship with the CPV, helping to develop friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

During their stay in Vietnam, the French guests held talks with a delegation from the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations. The two sides discussed measures to consolidate and strengthen cooperation between the two Parties in particular and between the two countries in general.

The French delegation also worked with the Central Theoretical Council and the Vietnam-France Friendship Association and visited Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.
