French ambassador Hervé Bolot has been awarded Vietnam’s Friendship Order in recognition of his significant contributions to promoting the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and France.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem presented the Order to the outgoing ambassador at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 21.

In his speech, Mr Khiem noted that during his working term, Mr Bolot has contributed to the success of visits by the two countries’ leaders and created the favourable conditions for the two business communities to increase trade exchanges and establish partnerships.

The ambassador has also put forward many initiatives and made constant efforts to expand bilateral cooperation in culture and education, said Mr Khiem.

Mr Bolot affirmed he will do his utmost to further strengthen friendship between France and Vietnam in the future.
