France will further help Vietnam carry out judicial reform, particularly in personnel training, French Justice Minister Pascal Clement assured State President Nguyen Minh Triet during a reception in Hanoi on March 15.

The French minister, who has been in Hanoi for the 14th session of the Vietnam-France Law House Committee, spoke highly of Vietnam’s ongoing judicial reform efforts, which he said are on the right track and will be successful.

Mr Triet highly valued France’s effective assistance in training many Vietnamese lawyers and judicial experts. He said Vietnam still needs legal assistance from other countries, including France as it is carrying out judicial reform and finalising its legal system in line with WTO regulations.

Mr Triet conveyed his thanks to French President Jacques Chirac and French Government for their assistance to Vietnam in recent times.
