Flag raising celebrates ASEAN's 45th anniversary
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 8 held a ceremony to raise the ASEAN and national flags in the presence of Minister Pham Binh Minh and ASEAN countries’ ambassadors to Vietnam.

Similar flag-raising ceremonies were also held in other ASEAN member countries to express the bloc’s determination to build an ASEAN Community by 2015 and promote the role and image of an ASEAN which always persists in maintaining the fundamental principles and staying united, unanimous, proactive and creative with a view to settling new issues emerging on the way to development, especially challenges to peace, stability, security and development in the region.
To this end, ASEAN member countries are sparing no effort to speed up the building of the ASEAN Community and encourage people to contribute to the bloc’s prosperous development.
