The committee says it has received 121 questions from NA deputies to be sent to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and 16 ministers and heads of other sectors.
After working with the Prime Minister, the committee concluded that five ministers will take the floor and answer the deputies’ queries at an upcoming NA question time.
Transport Minister Dinh La Thang will talk about solutions to reduce traffic accidents and ease traffic congestion in big cities. He will also propose solutions to speed up, improve the quality and address the degradation of transport projects. The Ministers of Public Security, Finance, Construction, and Planning and Investment will join the hearing to clarify relevant issues.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat will focus on implementing investment policies in agricultural and rural development, developing high technology-based agriculture, expanding export markets and developing the brand names of Vietnamese farm products. He will also elaborate on solutions to minimize the adverse effects of climate change and natural disasters, and maintain 3.8 million hectares of land under rice cultivation.
Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue will be grilled over his ministry’s management of market prices for essential commodities such as petrol, coal and public services, as well as its impact on business production and people’s lives. He will introduce measures to increase tax collection, stop tax evasion and reduce budget spending to ensure finance security.
Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Van Binh will explain how the banking system is being restructured and the currency market is stabilised. He will propose measures to deal with violations in credit transactions, supply sufficient capital for production, and curb inflation to maintain economic growth.
Last but not least, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan will answer questions relating to the quality of tertiary education, the negative effects of poor teaching and the lack of kindergartens.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will then take the floor to further clarify those issues and answer the deputies’ questions, focusing on the government’s performance, economic restructuring, finalization of economic institutions, human resources development, infrastructure construction, and poverty reduction.
