Vu Binh, the first Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece, presented his credentials to Greek President Karolos Papoulias on June 20.

President Papoulias recalled his fine impression about Vietnamese people and land and the country’s achievements in its national renewal.

Ambassador Binh expressed thanks for the Greek people’s support and assistance to Vietnam during its struggle for national independence and unification in the past and during its on-going industrialisation, modernisation and international integration, as well as the building of a equitable, democratic and civilized society.

Host and guests shared the same view that with the establishment of diplomatic agencies in the capital city of each country, the two sides needed to have strong long-term plans and initiatives to create breakthroughs and momentum for development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in every field, with a focus on maritime activities, sea tourism and culture.
