Addressing the event, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Thanh Binh, highlighted Mr Phu’s substantial contributions to the Party’s revolutionary cause.
“Comrade Tran Phu was a prominent Party leader and a steadfast communist who devoted his whole life to the cause of national and class liberation. Though he passed away, he has left behind great treasures and significant lessons for generations of cadres, Party members and the general public. These include the political platform compiled by him and many other historical documents which outlined strategic guidelines and correct policies for the Vietnamese revolution.”
Mr Binh said that Ha Tinh is proud to be the birthplace of Tran Phu and many other predecessors of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
“Following their examples, the provincial Party Committee, administration and people are determined to pool all resources to develop Ha Tinh into one of the leading industrial and trade centres in the north-central region,” said Mr Binh.
According to Mr Binh, the province will give priority to carrying out key national projects on iron & steel casting, power generation, seaport construction and mining.
Delegates offered incense to Tran Phu at his memorial house in Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district.
