During an inspection tour, Mr Hai asked them to work harder to ensure the refinery will operate at full capacity on October 25 this year. He said that the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and the Dung Quat Oil Refinery need to focus on operation and maintenance work as well as training workers.

He also asked relevant ministries, sectors and Quang Ngai province to strengthen inspections and issue regulations to make sure the refinery operates safely.

The refinery, the first of its kind in Vietnam has produced 5,700 tonnes of diesel, 5,3000 tonnes of kerosene and 1,132 tonnes of fuel oil. About 5,000 tonnes of the diesel and kerosene has already been sold.
