Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Sauli Niinisto left Hanoi on January 13, concluding his official visit to Vietnam.

Earlier, he made a tour of the north-eastern province of Quang Ninh and voted for Ha Long Bay as one of the world’s New Seven Wonders. 

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thanh briefed the Finnish delegation on the province’s socio-economic development achievements and its potential. 

Quang Ninh aims to become an industrial province by 2015, he said, adding that the locality is making efforts to ensure social security and create favourable environment for economic development and investment attraction. 

Speaker Niinisto praised Quang Ninh’s development achievements in all sectors and expressing his belief that the friendship between Finland and Vietnam and Quang Ninh province in particular will be promoted.
