The Legislative Research Institute under the National Assembly (NA) held a conference in the northern coastal city of Ha Long on April 7 to conduct a review of other institutes of this kind around the world and seek ways to apply their experiences in Vietnam.
At the event, participants made presentations on mechanisms for such institutions in Vietnam, China, the Republic of Korea, Australia and the US.
In addition, they discussed ways to improve the quality of its database of scientific legislative information.
Dr Dinh Xuan Thao, head of the Legislative Research Institute, said that his organization is tasked with conducting research to improve the NA’s operations and developing a database for NA agencies and deputies.
Results from this conference are expected to help complete the Legislative Research Institute, which is the first of its kind in Vietnam to date.
