The 200 documents, photographs, and objects on display at the exhibition depict the inception and development of the AIPA and contributions made by the Vietnam National Assembly to the development of the AIPA.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the Head of the National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations, Nguyen Van Son, said that Vietnam has actively taken part in the organization’s activities since it became an official member of the AIPA in 1995.

Mr Son said that the Vietnamese legislative body has proposed many initiatives which have become AIPA resolutions, which has helped to improve the organization’s effectiveness and strengthen the links between the AIPA and ASEAN.

The opening ceremony was attended by numerous senior officials, including NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong and NA Deputy Chairpersons Tong Thi Phong and Uong Chu Luu.
