The Vietnam Episcopal Council on January 29 visited and extended lunar New Year greetings to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

VFF Vice President Ha Van Nui said that over the years the Vietnam Catholic community has made a practical contribution to national construction and development, especially to the campaign “People unite to build a new lifestyle in residential areas”.

He praised Catholics for their humanitarian activities to support needy people, including those affected by natural disasters, and affirmed that the Party and State respect and guarantee people’s right to freedom of religion and belief.

He expressed his hope that the Vietnam Episcopal Council and the Hanoi diocese would work closely with the VFF to settle issues of Catholic concern.

He also extended the best wishes to the council and lunar New Year greetings to the Catholic community across the country.

Priest Nguyen Khac Que from the Hanoi diocese proposed that the VFF pay more attention to the Catholic community and work harder to promote unity between religions and the nation.
