Egypt is keen to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in various fields, including coffee, tea, aquaculture, chemical industry and feed for animals.

The Egypt Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with representatives from a number of ministries on May 12 to review the recent visit to Vietnam by Ambassador Mohamed Hegazy, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs.

Participants in the meeting highlighted Vietnam as an emerging economy with annual GDP growth at US$222 billion, including US$200 million from exports to Egypt.

Vietnam was committed to helping Egypt train human resources in the agricultural sector, and wants to cooperate with Egypt in the fields of rice production and fisheries.

The two countries recently agreed to strengthen cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as expanding markets and boosting trade promotion.
