Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan on February 23 received a delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) – Vietnam Friendship Association led by Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Chang In.

Ms Doan affirmed that the time-honoured friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK, which was nurtured by late President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam and late President Kim Il-sung of the DPRK, has developed strongly over the years.

She appreciated the activities of the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Association, which she said have contributed to fostering bilateral ties.

The Vietnamese leader expressed her belief that the two countries’ relations will be further promoted for mutual benefit, as well as for peace and stability in the region and the world.

For his part, Ambassador Kim thanked Vietnam for past valuable assistance to the DPRK, and reiterated that bilateral ties will be enhanced by the younger generations.

The DPRK will continue boosting its national economy despite numerous difficulties and challenges, he said.

The DPRK delegation will conclude their week-long visit to Vietnam on February 26, aimed at increasing mutual understanding and strengthening traditional friendship between the two countries.
