Young entrepreneurs urged to lead innovation drive, shape nation’s future

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on Vietnam’s young entrepreneurs to take the lead in innovation, startup development, and sustainable growth, highlighting their role as a driving force in the country’s socio-economic progress.

Addressing the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association in Hanoi on November 27, Prime Minister Chinh emphasised the crucial role of young entrepreneurs in the business community and national development. He described them as dynamic, creative, and courageous individuals who dare to think boldly, act decisively, confront challenges, and achieve success in emerging sectors.

Young entrepreneurs must expand the country’s development frontiers by exploring opportunities at sea, in space, and in high-tech industries, he said.

They are expected to apply artificial intelligence, big data, semiconductors, circular economy models, and green economic principles to production and business activities, while valuing knowledge, saving time, and making timely, strategic decisions.

The Prime Minister asked young entrepreneurs to lead in connecting private enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and foreign-invested companies, shaping policies, and bringing Vietnamese products and brands to international markets. In addition, he said, they should spearhead innovative projects, sustainable startups, and green development initiatives.

The Government leader also underlined the cultural and social responsibilities of young entrepreneurs, urging them to cultivate a generation of business leaders with revolutionary ideals, patriotic spirit, and a willingness to tackle new and difficult challenges.

He called on them to foster a Vietnamese business culture guided by the principles of “pure heart, bright intellect, ambitious vision, and commitment to serving the nation and its people.” He encouraged them to pursue legitimate wealth, respect the law, care for workers, and spread a spirit of solidarity and social responsibility.

During the previous term, the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association demonstrated its growing influence, representing more than 21,000 members whose businesses created jobs for five million people, generated over US$40 billion in annual revenue, and contributed more than 10% of the national GDP. The association also invested hundreds of billions of VND in social welfare programmes and emergency relief for natural disasters in provinces.

The Congress elected Dang Hong Anh as the President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for its 2025–2030 tenure.
