Senior leaders win strong voter support for National Assembly candidacies
VOV.VN - Senior Party and State leaders of Vietnam have received strong support from voters in their place of residence as candidates for the coming 16th National Assembly.
Voters showed their support for the candidates at a recent meeting held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Dinh Ward (Hanoi), in coordination with the local People’s Committee, to collect comments and assess voter confidence in candidates running for the 2026–2031 National Assembly term.
Those introduced as candidates were Party General Secretary To Lam; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; National Assembly Vice Chairman Do Van Chien; head of the Party’s Organisation Commission Le Minh Hung; head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri; and head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai.
At the meeting, voters were briefed on the criteria for National Assembly candidates and the professional backgrounds of the seven individuals who currently reside in Ba Dinh Ward.
The voters unanimously agreed that all seven candidates meet the required standards and conditions, describing them as exemplary in political integrity, ethics, competence and prestige. They noted that the candidates hold key leadership positions within the Party and State and have fulfilled their duties effectively.
The voters also said the candidates maintain close ties with local residents, regularly engage with the community and actively promote Party guidelines and state policies.
All attending voters voted in favour of the seven candidates.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, National Assembly Vice Chairman Do Van Chien thanked local voters for their trust, calling it a strong source of encouragement to continue serving the country and the people with dedication.
Vietnamese voters will cast their ballots in March 2026 to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and local People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.
