Party, State leaders pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh

VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on September 1 to pay tribute to the late President on the occasion of National Day (September 2).

The delegation comprises State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee President Nguyen Van Chien, and many other senior Party and State officials.

They also laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street to commemorate their sacrifice to the nation.

The same day, delegations of several ministries and representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations also laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.

On September 2, 1945 at Hanoi’s Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
