Party chief calls for institutionalisation of Congress Resolution in 2026
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam said 2026 must be a pivotal year for institutionalising and concretising the core contents of the documents adopted at the 14th National Party Congress, stressing the need to translate the Congress Resolution into tangible outcomes for the country.
He made the remarks on February 10 while chairing a meeting with members of the sub-committees preparing the recent 14th National Party Congress and the Steering Committee tasked with reviewing theoretical and practical issues of Vietnam’s 40-year Đổi mới (Renewal) process under socialist orientation.
Expressing his pleasure at meeting officials who directly contributed their expertise and dedication to the successful organisation of the 14th Party Congress, the Party leader said the Congress’ success was the result of unity, consensus and sustained efforts by the entire Party, people and armed forces, with the sub-committees and the renewal review steering committee playing a particularly important role.
He highlighted the rigorous, scientific and demanding process behind the drafting of the Congress documents, noting that the final texts reflected countless discussions, revisions and difficult choices made under significant time pressure and high quality requirements.
“Behind every document adopted with high consensus and every major decision of the Congress are many sleepless nights, long meetings and careful deliberations over every word and every option,” said the top leader, praising the sense of responsibility, professionalism and close coordination among the sub-committees and support teams.
While noting that the documents, policy orientations and development goals have now been clearly defined, the Party chief stressed that the decisive task ahead is implementation.
“The key issue now is to turn the spirit of the Congress into concrete actions, practical results and real changes in national life,” he said.
The leader urged members of the sub-committees, in their respective positions, to continue contributing their expertise and experience to the dissemination, concretisation and effective implementation of the 14th Party Congress Resolution.
He underlined that 2026 should focus on translating new and core policy directions into institutional frameworks, while continuing research and implementation in several major areas, including enhancing strategic autonomy; transforming the country’s development model; pursuing double-digit economic growth targets; and building a disciplined, orderly, safe, healthy and civilised society.
“These are major and highly challenging tasks that require collective wisdom, strong political resolve and deep theoretical and practical understanding,” he said.
On the occasion, the Party chief also instructed the Office of the Party Central Committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the preparation and organisation of the 14th Party Congress, draw lessons for the next term, and reward organisations and individuals with outstanding contributions.
