Meeting marks 60 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomacy
VOV.VN - A ceremony was held in Hanoi on December 1 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cuba.

Addressing the function, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh highlighted the special friendship, solidarity and mutual trust between Vietnam and Cuba over the past six decades which he said are very special and rare in international relations.
Both sides have built a close friendship and all-round cooperation mechanism between the two Parties, Governments, National Assemblies, as well as between organisations and localities.
Cuba continues to be an important and reliable partner of Vietnam, affirmed Minh.
He emphasized the Vietnamese leaders’ determination to implement high-level agreements with Cuba, to bring bilateral relations, including their economic cooperation, to new heights.
For her part, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera said that both countries have held a lot of activities this year to mark 60 years of bilateral diplomacy. They include online seminars, photo exhibitions, painting competitions, friendship meetings, cultural gala dinners, book publications and documentary screenings.
She highly appreciated Vietnam’s support for the Cuban people’s fight against the US embargo, and affirmed Cuba and Vietnam have maintained comprehensive cooperation relations with the participation of numerous socio-political organizations, as well as judicial and defence sectors.
The Cuban diplomat proposed that the two countries continue to strengthen their special political relationship and comprehensive cooperation, serving as invaluable assets for future generations.
