Khanh Hoa province told to realise ambitious goal by 2030

VOV.VN - The south-central province of Khanh Hoa must work hard toward the goal of becoming a strategic growth pole, a centrally governed city and a modern marine economic hub by 2030, according to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Addressing delegates to the first Congress of the Khanh Hoa provincial Party Committee on September 22, the National Assembly Chairman acknowledged and highly valued the achievements made by the Party, government, and people of Khanh Hoa over the past five years.

In particular, after nearly three months of implementing the two-tier local government model, all 64 communes and wards in the newly established province from former provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan have been operating smoothly and gradually moving into order.

“These achievements vividly demonstrate the strong political will of Party committees, the responsible governance of local authorities, the joint efforts of the political system and mass organisations, and the solidarity and determination of officials, Party members, armed forces, and the people,” stressed the leader.

However, he also pointed out shortcomings such as slow public investment disbursement, delays in key projects, lack of synchronised infrastructure, and the difficulties still faced by part of the population.

To fully meet its 2030 goal, he welcomed Khanh Hoa’s plan to achieve average annual growth of 11–12%; list its GRDP per capita and budget revenue among the top 10 localities nationwide; and basically eliminate poverty by 2030.

He asked the province to build a clean, strong Party and political system, with particular focus on personnel work; and effectively operate the two-tier local government model, combined with digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) application, and stronger public service delivery for citizens and businesses.

Man reminded the province to effectively implement seven major Resolutions on science–technology, international integration, private sector development, energy security, education–training, and public health care which were recently issued by the Political Bureau.

Notably, he recommended that Khanh Hoa develop the marine economy as the main pillar, by capitalising on nearly 500 km of coastline and the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, linked to energy, logistics, high technology, and world-class tourism. He unuderscored the need for the province to combine economic growth with defence and security to build Truong Sa into both a socio-economic hub and a stronghold safeguarding national sovereignty over seas and islands.

In addition, he asked the province to promote great national unity by spreading the spirit of self-reliance and aspiration for development, while making thorough preparations for the elections of the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in 2026.

National Assembly Chairman Man expressed his belief that with strong determination and unity, Khanh Hoa would write a new chapter of development to fulfil its goal of becoming a strategic growth pole, a centrally governed city, an international marine tourism and services hub by 2030.

The Congress announced the Politburo’s decision on key appointments to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. The Executive Committee will have 54 members, the Standing Board 14 members, with Nghiem Xuan Thanh serving as Secretary.
