Key State apparatus leaders to face vote of confidence in October

VOV.VN - The National Assembly will conduct a vote of confidence for leaders of the State apparatus elected and approved by the legislature in its year-end session this October, according to a senior National Assembly official.

The National Assembly is scheduled to convene its sixth session in Hanoi on October 23 and to last for nearly a month, said Bui Van Cuong, general secretary of the legislature.

The National Assembly will examine the implementation of socio-economic and budgetary tasks for 2023 and set major targets for 2024. It is expected to approve nine bills and give opinions on eight other bills.

Lawmakers will grill four Cabinet members over issues of voter concern during a three-day inquiry.

The lawmakers will also hold a vote of confidence for titles elected or approved by the National Assembly in the State apparatus.

Among them will be the State President, the National Assembly Chairman, the Prime Minister, Cabinet members, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the Government Inspector General.

This will the fourth time the National Assembly has exercised its supervisory power by holding a vote of confidence for the titles elected and approved by the legislature.
