Key lawmakers discuss oversight programme for 2023

VOV.VN - The National Assembly Standing Committee convened a conference in Hanoi on September 27 to examine the legislative oversight programme ahead for 2023.

The conference was held as part of an initiative put forward by NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue aimed at further innovating and improving the overall quality and efficiency of the performance of both the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Delegates discussed difficulties in executing the oversight programme of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2022, and devised solutions to effectively implement the 2023 programme.

Moving ahead to next year, the legislative body is scheduled to oversee the mobilisation, management, and use of resources for COVID-19 prevention and control, as well as the implementation of a range of policies and laws concerning grassroots-level health and preventive medicine.

Furthermore, it will also put the National Assembly’s resolutions on the national target programmes on building new rural areas in the 2021 - 2025 period under the microscope, along with plans relating to sustainable poverty reduction in the 2021 - 2025 period and regional socio-economic development among ethnic minorities and mountainous people in the 2021 - 2030 period.

The lawmakers will also monitor the implementation of the legislature’s resolutions on education reform, especially for general education curricula and textbooks, and the implementation of policies and laws on energy development for the 2016 - 2021 period.
