Former Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong passes away

VOV.VN - Former Politburo member and former President Tran Duc Luong of Vietnam passed away on May 20 at the age of 88, according to the specialised council for the protection of senior officials' health.

Despite the dedicated treatment by the Party, the State, a team of professors and doctors, and the wholehearted care from the family, the former President passed away at his residence in Hanoi at 10:51 PM on May 20 due to his old age and declining health, said the council.

Details regarding the memorial, funeral, and burial ceremonies for the former president will be announced at a later time.
