Vietnamese, Chinese communists hold 16th theoretical workshop

VOV.VN - The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virtually held the 16th theoretical workshop on December 29.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theory Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Huang Kunming, Politburo member, Secretary of the Secretariat and head of the Publicity Department of the CCP Central Committee.

In their remarks, both sides highlighted the significance of enhancing theoretical exchanges between the two parties in the new situation, considering the workshop an opportunity to share theoretical and practical achievements, as well as experience in the Party leadership in building socialism in each country.

Thang said given the fact that socialism is universal and specific, the CPV constantly studies and explores the model of socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam. The great achievements of the Vietnamese revolution, recorded especially during the Doi Moi (Renewal) process, affirm the correctness and creativity of the Party’s line on national construction and development.

By carrying out the Renewal process which presents both difficulties and challenges, the CPV is fully aware of the importance of building a pure and strong Party, said Thang.

For his part, Huang briefed Thang on outcomes of the sixth plenum of the CCP Central Committee which adopted a resolution summarizing the theoretical and practical achievements of the Chinese revolution and socialist construction with Chinese characteristics during the past 100 years.

They agreed that the workshop would practically contribute to theoretical development in service of Party building, State management and socialist construction in the two countries.

Participating experts and scholars looked into achievements recorded by the two parties, along with leadership experience in socialist construction in each country.
