Vietnam wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Kenya
VOV.VN - State President Luong Cuong appreciated Kenya’s growing role regional and globally, and reiterated Vietnam’s desire to deepen multifaceted cooperation with the African nation, during his reception for Kenyan Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya in Hanoi on April 17.

Cuong welcomed Tuya’s participation in the fourth Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 Summit (P4G) in Hanoi on April 16-17, showing Kenya’s strong commitment to global development issues and contributing to the success of the forum.
He also congratulated Kenya on its achievements in national development, especially its effort to become the “Silicon Savannah” - a financial and technological hub of East Africa.
Tuya for her part delivered President William Ruto’s letter to Cuong, praising the close ties between the two countries, viewing Vietnam as a model of development, and inviting the President to visit Kenya to strengthen bilateral relations.
Based on the strong political trust between Vietnam and Kenya, Cuong proposed both countries enhance cooperation in areas of potential such as trade, investment, agriculture, and tourism; and expand defence cooperation in the defence industry, logistics, military medicine, and UN peacekeeping operations. He also called on Kenya to support Vietnam in strengthening ties with the African Union and other regional organisations.
Tuya fully agreed with Cuong’s proposals and affirmed Kenya’s desire to act as a gateway for boosting bilateral trade and Vietnam’s engagement with East Africa. She proposed that both sides promptly expand and specify cooperation in defence and security, food security, affordable housing, and universal health care.
On this occasion, Cuong extended an invitation to President Ruto to visit Vietnam and expressed gratitude for the reciprocal invitation to Kenya.
