Vietnam examines high-tech development model at Pangyo Techno Valley
VOV.VN - A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Nguyen Duy Ngoc, deputy head of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation Development and Digital Transformation, visited and worked at Pangyo Techno Valley, the leading innovation hub of the Republic of Korea in Gyeonggi province, on August 12.

During a working session with the Pangyo leadership, the delegation was introduced to the development model, strategic orientation, and innovation ecosystem of the valley, which houses nearly 2,000 high-tech companies, research centres, and venture investment funds.
Both sides engaged in extensive discussions about cooperation possibilities in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and smart cities, as well as mechanisms for connecting enterprises and technology incubators between Vietnam and the RoK.
Speaking at the working session, Ngoc, who is also Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, highly appreciated the role of Pangyo Techno Valley in promoting innovation, while affirming that Vietnam considers science-technology and innovation as one of the important driving forces for rapid and sustainable development.
He expressed the desire to strengthen cooperation between localities, agencies, research institutes, and enterprises of both countries in this field.
Leaders from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Hanoi also exchanged views to learn from the RoK’s experience in building building high-tech zones, free economic zones, and smart city systems.

Dr. Tran Hai Linh, chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Business & Investment Association (VKBIA) emphasised that VKBIA would continue to accompany Vietnamese agencies, localities, and enterprises in accessing and learning from the RoK’s high-tech development model, as well as implementing specific cooperation projects immediately after the visit, bringing practical benefits to both countries.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hyoung, member of Gyeonggi Provincial Council, briefed the delegation on the province’s experience in Smart City governance, management and development, and the application of high science and technology for socio-economic development both locally and nationally.
The leadership of Pangyo expressed readiness to support Vietnam in sharing experience, training high-tech human resources, connecting startup ecosystems, and research-development cooperation.
The field trip to Pangyo Techno Valley was made on the sidelines of the ongoing state visit to the Republic of Korea by Party General Secretary To Lam at the invitation of President Lee Jae-myung.
