Vietnam desires to promote ties with Timor Leste

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia cum Timor Leste Ta Van Thong presented his credentials to President Jose Ramos Horta in capital Dili on October 24.

President Horta welcomed the Vietnamese diplomat and wished him a successful working term in Timor Leste.

Ambassador Thong thanked President Horta and people of Timor Leste for their support to Vietnamese people during their past struggle for national independence and the present cause of national development at present.

He vowed to make every effort to fulfill the assigned task, helping to promote the Vietnam - Timor Leste cooperation, especially in trade-investment, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as in other fields.

The Vietnamese ambassador also met with Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak and leaders of a number of ministries in charge of foreign affairs, economic affairs, transport and industry, to hammer out measures for stronger bilateral relations.
