Vietnam congratulates new Malaysian PM
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 21 sent a message of congratulation to Ismail Sabri Yaakob on his appointment as the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Malaysia’s King Al-Sultan Abdullah on August 20 named Ismail Sabri Yaakob, UMNO Vice President, as the country’s new Prime Minister, after his predecessor Muhyiddin Yassin stepped down several days earlier.
Ismail was sworn in as Malaysia's ninth prime minister on August 21.
He will have to face a confidence vote in parliament to prove his majority.
