Vietnam congratulates Cambodia on Independence Day

VOV.VN - Top leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and National Assembly have cabled messages of congratulation to their Cambodian counterparts on Cambodia’s 67th Independence Day (November 9).

The messages were extended by Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Senate President Samdech Say Chhum, and National Assembly President Heng Samrin.

In their letters, the Vietnamese leaders congratulate Cambodia on the great and important achievements the Cambodian people have gained in maintaining stability and socio-economic development, as well as in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.

They believe that, under the reign of the King and the clear-sighted leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government, the Cambodian people will continue to record new, great and comprehensive achievements in national construction and development towards a prosperous country with an increasingly high position in the international arena.

The leaders reaffirm Vietnam’s desire to strengthen the good neighbourliness, and traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term sustainable cooperation with Cambodia.

Vietnam will do its best to cement that relationship, and stand shoulder to shoulder with Cambodia to overcome all difficulties and challenges to deepen cooperation between the two countries, in the interest of the two peoples, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent a congratulatory letter to Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn.
