Vietnam condemns deadly terrorist bomb attacks in southern Philippines

VOV.VN - Vietnam strongly condemned terrorist bomb attacks in Jolo town, Sulu Province, southern Philippines on August 24, killing at least 15 and injuring dozens, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Hang extended deep condolences to the Government and families of the victims, and expressed her belief that the perpetrators will be duly punished.

Local media reported at least 15 people, including 7 soldiers, have been killed and 75 others were injured in two explosions that rocked Sulu province on August 24.

Jolo has been sealed off to prevent the risk of similar attacks. Philippine officials have launched investigations to hunt for the culprit.

Sulu is known as the stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf Group, an armed group that has allied itself with ISIL.
