Vietnam and Azerbaijan to sign cooperation document on crime prevention
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Azerbaijan will consider negotiating and signing legal documents, including those on crime prevention and law enforcement capacity-building.

They will establish mechanisms for information exchange, joint criminal investigations, and cooperation on transnational crime and international fugitives through bilateral channels or Interpol, when required.
They will initiate delegation exchanges at all levels to explore needs, potential, and cooperation opportunities in addressing traditional and non-traditional security threats.
The agreement was reached during talks in Baku on May 8 between General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, and Vilayet Eyvazov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
Both sides exchanged views on political, economic, social, and public security developments in their respective countries, noting that after more than 30 years of the traditional friendship, bilateral cooperation has yielded positive results across many sectors.
Gen. Quang, who accompanied Party General Secretary To Lam’s visit to Azerbaijan on May 7-8, emphasised the need to elevate security and law enforcement cooperation in line with the newly established strategic partnership framework, especially as both countries seek to safeguard national security and territorial sovereignty, ensuring peace, prosperity, and happiness for their citizens.
The two sides agreed to promptly address mutual criminal verification requests; ensure the security of high-level visits; and guarantee the safety of citizens from both countries involved in business, investment, education, and tourism.
They vowed to support each other’s positions and coordinate in international security and law enforcement forums where both countries are members.
