VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed a desire to enhance exchanges, coordination, and substantive collaboration between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Russia, during his reception for Vladimir Yakushev, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, in Hanoi on September 2.

Yakushev, who is also Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, was in Hanoi for Vietnam’s 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
At the meeting, Chairman Man thanked Russia for sending a high-ranking delegation to Vietnam’s grand celebration, saying Yakushev’s visit is a vivid demonstration of Vietnam–Russia friendship and recognition of the Vietnamese people’s achievements in national liberation and construction.
Vietnam always values its traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, considering Russia one of its most important partners in foreign policy, affirmed the top legislator.
He proposed that Vietnam and Russia further strengthen parliamentary cooperation, creating favourable conditions to promote political and economic relations, as well as people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

On the parliamentary channel, relations between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Federal Assembly of Russia have been broadened through increased exchanges, cooperation between committees, and the effective, practical activities of the Vietnam - Russia and Russia - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Groups.
Also at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh also reported on parliamentary cooperation, coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums, the activities of the Vietnam–Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and proposed directions for future cooperation.
