Thai PM Srettha Thavisin mourns Vietnamese Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong in Bangkok
VOV.VN - Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin on July 25 travelled to the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok to pay his respect to Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who passed away in Hanoi on July 19.

After paying his floral tribute, Thavisin wrote in the condolence book, extending his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam as well as Trong’s bereaved family.
Diplomats of embassies of Laos, Cambodia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States and others in Bangkok also paid floral tributes to the deceased Vietnamese leader.
They praised Trong as an outstanding leader who devoted his life, strength and intelligence to the noble cause of national liberation, reunification and reform of Vietnam.
Writing in the condolence book, Ambassador Khamphan Anlanvan of Laos emphasized the great role of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Among the delegates attending the ceremony at the embassy headquarters was Sanan Angubolkul, chairman of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, and chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of trade of Thailand.
“We were extremely saddened to hear of the death of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. We would like to send our condolences and deep sympathy to the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Government and people of Vietnam.
“On the Thai side, we will continue to support the guidelines and policies of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, wishing to strengthen coordination to promote good cooperative relations between Vietnam and Thailand,” said Sanan Angubolkul.
