State President leaves for King Charles III coronation ceremony in UK

VOV.VN - State President Vo Van Thuong on May 4 left Hanoi for London to attend the coronation of UK King Charles III.

Thuong is being accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long, deputy head of President Office Phan Thi Kim Oanh, President assistant Duong Quoc Hung, and leaders of several ministries and sectors.

The President’s working trip to the UK is a high-level foreign activity, affirming Vietnam’s position and role in the region and the world at large.

It aims to facilitate the implementation of Vietnam’s foreign policy on comprehensive and extensive international integration.

Thuong’s attendance at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III shows Vietnam’s respect for the British Royal Family and the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long, this is the second visit to the UK by a Vietnamese President after nearly two decades, in the context that the relations between Vietnam and the UK are developing positively.

This year the two countries are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations with many activities to be held in both Vietnam and the UK.
