State President ends Thailand visit, APEC summit activities

VOV.VN - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage arrived in Hanoi on November 19 afternoon, concluding their visit to Thailand and participation in the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.

During his stay in Thailand from November 16-19, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, and they both witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in various fields.

President Phuc and his wife paid a courtesy visit to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana at the Grand Palace, and had a meeting with Thai National Assembly president Chuan Leepai.  

He met with leaders of some leading businesses and economic groups of Thailand that are operating in Vietnam such as: SCG, Amata, and CP.

The President also chaired a meeting with 350 Vietnamese - Thai enterprises, attended the opening ceremony of Vietnamese Products Week in Thailand, and visited and talked with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General, as well as representatives of the Vietnamese community in Thailand.

President Phuc attended and delivered speeches the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related working sessions. He had bilateral meetings with leaders of participating countries, including China, the United States, the Philippines, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Canada, France, Chile, and Peru.

He also had meetings with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) and the general director of the International Monetary Fund.
