Sri Lanka President Dissanayaka concludes State visit to Vietnam
VOV.VN - President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka of Sri Lanka left Ho Chi Minh City on May 6, concluding his three-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.

The visit marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and coincides with the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
During his stay, Dissanayaka held talks and meetings with senior Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Both sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in areas such as economy, trade, and tourism. They emphasised the potential for further collaboration by leveraging their respective strengths.
Dissanayaka expressed admiration for Vietnam’s rapid development and extended Sri Lanka’s warm friendship towards Vietnam. He reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to deepening the relationship and fostering mutual growth.
The two leaders issued a joint statement agreeing on key directions to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
As part of his visit, Dissanayaka also made a call at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh Province and the headquarters of private conglomerate Vingroup in Hanoi.
The President attended the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City on May 6, as a distinguished guest and delivered a significant speech, reaffirming the long-standing Buddhist ties between the two countries.
