Russian PM Mishustin concludes Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin left Hanoi on January 15, concluding his two-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
During his stay, Mishustin held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, and had meetings with other senior Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary To Lam, State president Luong Cuong and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Both sides agreed to deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, by promoting exchanges, creating solid foundations for comprehensive bilateral cooperation, especially in areas such as economic-trade, investment, energy-oil, education-training, culture, tourism, science-technology, and local cooperation.
They recognized the positive growth in bilateral trade recently, though there remains substantial potential for further development. They agreed on the need for breakthrough measures to boost two-way trade, by leveraging the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union of which Russia is a member. They also emphasized the importance of creating favourable conditions for mutual goods, such as agricultural products and pharmaceuticals, to enter each other’s markets.
The two PMs signed a Joint Communiqué on the outcomes of Russia's official visit to Vietnam, and witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements in the fields of science, information and communication, and culture. They jointly attended the high-level business dialogue between Vietnam and Russia, with the participation of prominent Vietnamese and Russian business representatives.
This is Mishustin’s first visit to Vietnam that coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
