RoK President Lee Jae-myung begins state visit to Vietnam
VOV.VN - President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and First Lady arrived in Hanoi on April 21, beginning a state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse.
President Lee and his encourage were welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by senior officials from the Vietnamese President’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanoi People’s Committee, and the Embassy of Vietnam in the Republic of Korea.
The visit, taking place from April 21 to 24, is regarded as a significant milestone in the Vietnam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reinforcing political trust and promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
This is President Lee’s first state visit to Vietnam in his new capacity and among the earliest high-level foreign visits following Vietnam’s completion of its state leadership restructuring.
During the visit, the RoK President is expected to hold high-level talks with Vietnamese leaders, attend the Vietnam–Korea Business Forum, and participate in several important bilateral activities.
Notably, the delegation accompanying the President includes leading Korean conglomerates such as SK Group, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, LG, HD Hyundai, and Hyosung. Their presence highlights Vietnam’s growing importance in global supply chains and its strategic role in the investment plans of major Korean corporations.
The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, investment, science and technology, and innovation, aligning with the development priorities of both countries.
