President Phuc congratulates newly elected RoK head of state
VOV.VN - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 10 extended a message of congratulation to conservative candidate Yoon Suk-yeol on his election as the 20th President of the Republic of Korea.
In the message, President Phuc emphasized that Vietnam is willing to work closely with the RoK Government to continue to develop the two countries’ relations more effectively, practically and comprehensively, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the rest of the world.
Yoon Suk Yeol, a former conservative top prosecutor, has defeated his chief liberal rival Lee Jae-myung in one of the country’s most closely fought presidential elections on March 10.
With more than 98% of the ballots counted, Yoon had 48.6% of the votes against his rival Lee’s 47.8%.
