VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will attend the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, from January 16 to 19 at the invitation of WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab.

The PM and his wide will then make official visits to Hungary and Romania from January 19 to 23 at the invitations of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press communique on January 11.

WEF is one of the reputable global forums, attracting the attention and participation of most leaders of countries, international organizations as well as the world’s leading corporations. Since the establishment of relations in 1989. WEF has invited Vietnam to its annual meetings in Davos and WEF conferences on East Asia.

During the World Economic Forum’s Country Strategic Dialogue on Vietnam in Tianjin, China, last June, Prime Minister Chinh asked WEF and its members to continue to cooperate and support Vietnam in technology, finance, high-quality human resource training, and modern governance.

WEF leaders and business representatives said that Vietnam is one of the bright spots of economic recovery in the region, a model of success in disease prevention. The country plays a pioneering role in transforming the growth model and shows its strong commitment to energy transition.

During his meeting with PM Chinh in Jakarta, Indonesia, last September, WEF chairman Schwab highly appreciated Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements, especially its comprehensive approach to macroeconomic management, helping the economy overcome regional and international challenges.
