PM Pham Minh Chinh to attend ASEAN Summit in Indonesia
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation to a leaders’ summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to be held in Indonesia this weekend.
The regional leaders’ gathering will take place at the headquarters of the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, Indonesia, on April 23-24.
Chinh has received an invitation to attend the summit from Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the incumbent President of ASEAN this year.
This is the newly-elected Vietnamese Prime Minister’s first overseas visit that affirms Vietnam’s commitment to strengthen solidarity and mutual assistance with other ASEAN member states, contributing to enhancing the regional bloc’s central role and position in addressing emerging challenges, so as to create a peaceful and favourable environment for sustainable development of each country and the region as a whole.
