PM Pham Minh Chinh encourages Vietnam – Poland investment cooperation

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with leaders from Poland’s top enterprises, including Adamed Pharma and LOT Polish Airlines, in Warsaw on January, as part of his ongoing visit to the European country.

At a meeting with the leadership of Adamed Pharma, Dr. Malgorzata Adamkiewicz, chairwoman of the group, highlighted Adamed’s status as a leading pharmaceutical and biotech firm in Poland, that employs over 2,500 staff with two factories in Poland and one in Vietnam.

The group has modernized the R&D center and production lines of Davipharm in Binh Duong, southern Vietnam. The Davipharm, which meets EU-GMP standards, that provides high-quality medicines across 12 therapeutic areas for both domestic use and export.

Adamkiewicz affirmed that Adamed views Vietnam as a promising investment destination, supported by government assistance, and it plans to expand its operations in the market.

Adamed pledges to produce high-quality pharmaceuticals for economic growth and public health while participating in social initiatives and altering perceptions of Vietnam-made products, she said.

Chinh congratulated Adamed on its success in Vietnam and welcomed its expansion plan, especially in high-tech and healthcare sectors. He encouraged the company to increase production for export to ASEAN, Asia, and globally, by leveraging Vietnam’s 17 free trade agreements with 60 major markets.

He emphasized the importance of branding and reducing product costs, and urged Adamed to expand its investment and technology transfer.

The government of Vietnam will provide optimal conditions and resolve challenges for Adamed to operate successfully in the country, he assured the CEO.

At another meeting, Michal Fijol, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, introduced the airline as one of the world’s oldest carriers, with a fleet of 80 aircraft serving 105 destinations across Europe, Asia, and North America.

LOT previously operated a Warsaw-Hanoi route, which was successful until its suspension in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It now expects to resume this route and expand business activities in Vietnam, including passenger and cargo transport, infrastructure development, and airport operations.

In 2024 alone, he said LOT chartered flights, bringing 15,000 Polish tourists to Vietnam.

Chinh commended LOT’s resilience amidst global challenges and valued its cooperation with Vietnam Airlines. He noted aviation’s crucial role in fostering cultural and economic exchanges and emphasized Vietnam’s potential in aviation, backed by its expanding airport infrastructure.

The PM encouraged LOT to work closely with Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies to explore opportunities and expand its market presence in Vietnam, by promoting the model of “one journey, multiple destinations” to popular tourist sites like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Ha Long, and Phu Quoc.

He reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for LOT and other Polish investors to achieve sustainable and efficient operations in the country, in line with the law.

PM Pham Minh Chinh in in Warsaw for an official visit to Poland from January 15-18 at the invitation of PM Donald Tusk. During talks and meetings with Polish leaders on January 16, the two sides agreed to soon upgrade Vietnam – Poland relations to a level of strategic partnership.
