Mexican ambassador honoured with Vietnam’s friendship medal
VOV.VN - Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), on November 23 awarded the medal For Peace and Friendship among Nations to outgoing Mexican Ambassador Sara Valdes Bolano.
The award is to recognize and honor the diplomat’s valuable contributions to consolidating and promoting mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Mexico.
Addressing the ceremony, Nga said during her working term, Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano has constantly made efforts to maintain and boost bilateral cooperation in various fields from politics-diplomacy to trade, economy, education, culture, as well as local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
The Ambassador has actively played an important role in realizing the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents between the two countries. Among them were a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Joint Committee on Economic, Trade and investment Cooperation between the Mexican Secretariat of Economy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2016, and a cooperation agreement between the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2019.
Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano thanked VUFO President Nga for the medal and affirmed that she will foster the growing friendship between the two peoples in whatever position she will hold in future.
