HCM City get-together marks 105 years of Russian October Revolution

VOV.VN - The Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting on November 4 to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution that falls on November 7.

Representatives of friendship societies, businesses and education institutions reviewed the historical significance of the Russian October Revolution through documentary ‘Ho Chi Minh with the October Revolution screened at the gathering.

Hoang Minh Nhan, chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the October Revolution left a great influence on the revolution in Vietnam and its subsequent development, noting the October Revolution also laid the foundation for the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia.

The relations between the two countries have stood the test of time over the years, and are developing constantly in various areas despite global upheavals, said Nhan, adding both sides have exchanged reciprocal visits at all levels to outline orientations for bilateral cooperation.

Natalia Borisovna Zolkina, director of the Russian Center in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her elation at the positive development of the Vietnam – Russia relations, saying despite global complications over the past more than seven decades the bilateral ties have flourished constantly and recorded great achievements in all fields.

“We, Russians living in your beautiful country, are grateful for your interest in our history,” said the Russian director.
