Ford Motor considers Vietnam a key market globally

VOV.VN - Vietnam is one of Ford Motor’s major markets globally, Kay Hart, president of International Markets Group of Ford Motor, told Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan during their meeting in Hanoi on January 17.

Hart briefed her host on the operation of its Ford plant in the northern province of Hai Duong, saying it is one of the company’s three key plants in the region.

Ford Vietnam expects to receive further support from Hai Duong province, as well as the government of Vietnam, to facilitate its operation locally, she said, adding that Ford Motor is continuing to examine opportunities to expand and develop new products and technologies in Vietnam.

With such support, Hart expressed her belief that the Ford Motor team would have appropriate strategies and confidently move towards new success in the future.

Emphasizing community activities as part of the company’s strategy, Hart said Ford Motor not only invests in products but also in people and community activities.

Vice President Xuan for her part welcomed Ford Motor’s long-term business strategy in Vietnam and affirmed that Vietnam is promoting administrative and institutional reforms to create the most favourable business and investment environment for foreign firms, including those from the US.

She once again delivered Vietnam’s commitment to climate action and expected that Ford Motor equipped with modern technology and managerial skills would help Vietnam to meet the commitment as well as to facilitate digital transformation.

She encouraged Ford Vietnam to carry out more community activities to support customers and people, especially those living in remote and disadvantaged areas.

Ford Motor should continue to serve as a bridge in the cooperative partnership between Vietnam and the US, she proposed.
