29 countries to showcase products, technologies at Vietnam Int’l Defense Expo
VOV.VN - The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 is scheduled to open in Hanoi on December 8 with the participation of exhibitors from 29 countries and territories, a press conference heard in Hanoi on November 24.
Among foreign exhibitors are those from the United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, and Germany, said Major General Nguyen Viet Hung, deputy political commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry under the Ministry of National Defense, at the press briefing
Vietnamese and international businesses will introduce combat vehicles, technology solutions, weapons and equipment for the navy, army, air force as well as cyber warfare forces.
The expo will present a chance for Vietnam to promote and popularize the capacity and potential of technology, weapons and equipment manufactured by its defense industry to international friends, said the military officer.
It will also create conditions for countries and companies to introduce products and seek opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of defense industry, he added.
According to Maj.Gen. Hung, the Ministry of National Defense has planned to hold the expo every two years, with the 2024 event to celebrate 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The three-day expo will be open to all Vietnamese people from December 8 at Gia Lam airport in Hanoi.
